We’re a privately owned company, founded in 1980. With over 27 years of experience, we offer a full range of services including design supply, fabrication, delivery and erection of structural steel.
Benson Steel has completed projects in Canada, Dominican Republic, Israel, Tanzania and Bermuda. Our construction of many significant landmark buildings in Ontario include:

Our full-time and contract staff consists of more than 65 specialists who are complemented by experienced project managers, engineers and a highly qualified labour force.
Our Specialty
We manufacture columns, beams, girts, purlins, trusses, plate girders, bracing and other client specific structural items for new construction and/or retro fit of existing buildings and structures. We specialize in heavy wide flange and heavy truss fabrication. Steel is manufactured using standard and/or custom profile shapes to suit the most structural and architectural designs. Galvanizing and special paint systems are available upon request for environmentally sensitive projects.

We are proud to be certified under the two 3rd party audit systems; ISO 9001:2000 standard and the Canadian Institute of Steel Construction Quality Assurance Program. We’re also a member of the Canadian Welding Bureau and The Canadian Institute of Steel Construction.
Our Community Involvement
We’re committed to making significant positive and lasting contributions to the community. We’ve donated to Windsor, Queen’s and The University of Toronto through the CISC and provided teaching aids to each of the Universities’ Engineering Departments. We’re a member of the CISC and both Ken and Stephen Benson are members of the CISC Board of Directors and several standing committees.
